Arcadia University is a private school in eastern Pennsylvania, about 10 miles north of Philadelphia. Students at Arcadia can choose from more than 75 majors, including graduate programs in the fields of health and education. At Arcadia, the class sizes are small, and teaching assistants do not teach any courses. Arcadia encourages its students to explore the world and offers more than 100 study abroad programs, such as the Preview for Freshmen. More than half of first year students participate in this program, which allows them to travel extensively with their classmates during spring break to earn class credit.  

Students have much to explore on campus, too, including the Grey Towers Castles, which belong to the school and have been declared a National Historic Landmark. Arcadia students can also join more than 90 student organizations, play intramural sports, or try out for the many varsity athletic teams. The Arcadia University Knights compete in the NCAA Division III Middle Atlantic Conference and offer opportunities in more than 15 men’s and women’s sports.

Arcadia is a coeducational, comprehensive private university in metropolitan Philadelphia offering undergraduate and graduate study to more than 4,000 students. Arcadia ranks 1st in the nation based on its percentage of undergraduate students studying abroad, according to the 2010 Open Doors Report. Approximately four out of five first year students use their passports and almost 80% of the graduating seniors in 2010 earned credits overseas. Arcadia's unique First Year Study Abroad Experience, and London/Scotland Preview programs have been recognized as among the most innovative international programs in the country.
