| Mission | |
| School mission: | Daemen is a small college focused on the individual but connected to the global community. Its mixture of liberal arts and career programs and its competency-based core curriculum encourage students to expand their horizons beyond the classroom through internships, service-learning, clinical and field experiences, collaborative research with faculty, and study abroad. The Core Curriculum is designed to develop students' skills and competencies in areas that will benefit them personally and professionally throughout their lives. At the heart of the Core Curriculum are the following seven competencies: analytical thinking; literacy in information and multimedia technology; effective oral and written communication; affective and aesthetic sensibility; moral and ethical discernment; historical and cultural contextual comprehension; and civic responsibility. The core competencies, introduced during the first two years of study, are strengthened and reinforced throughout the entire learning experience at Daemen College. |
